Alternate names: Bukovets' [Ukr], Bükköspatak [Hun, 20th c.], Bukóc [Hun, 19th c], Bukovec [Slov], Bikivitz [Yid], Bukovets [Rus], Bukócz, Bukovce. 8°52' N, 22°56' E, 33 miles ENE of Uzhhorod (Ungvár). [There are two villages named 'Bukovets' in SubCarpathia].. Jewish population:  6 (in 1880), 48 (in 1910)

Bukovets' was part of the Kingdom of Hungary (11th century- 920 and 1938-1944) with the name of Beregbárdos in Bereg megye (county), then Czechoslovakia (1920-1938) with the name of Bukovec in Podkarpatská Rus (Sub-Carpathia), then part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (1945-1991) with the name of Bukovec and since 1991, known as Bukovets' in the Volovetskiy rayon (district) of Zakarpats'ka oblast(of Ukraine.
