Alternate names: Bošany [Slov], Bossány [Hun], Boschan [Ger], Nagybossány, Kisbossány, Veľké Bošany, Malé Bošany. 48°35' N, 18°17' E, 21 miles NNE of Nitra (Nyitra), 5 miles ENE of Topoľčany (Nagytapolcsány). Nagybossány and Kisbossány were united in 1924. Jewish population: 154 (in 1851), 35 (in 1930).
US Commission Number. SLCE000244 Bosany is located E of Topolcany. The last known Jewish burial was 1927. A sign or plaque in Slovak marks the isolated rural/agricultural hillside . Reached by crossing a field and open to all, broken masonry wall without gate surrounds the site. Present size is 100x30 meters. The marble and granite 19th-20th century flat shaped tombstones or finely smoothed have Hebrew and German inscriptions. The property is used for recreation. Adjacent properties are agricultural.
