QUEDLINBURG: 06484 Saxony-Anhalt (Gerz)

Coat of armsOn July 1, 2007, the district of Quedlinburg merged with the districts of Halberstadt and  Wernigerode into the new district of Harz. The coat of arms shows symbols for the three. In the top left is an antler symbolizing Regenstein. The two knives used at a buffet (German: Kredenzmesser) stand for the Abbey of Quedlinburg. The yellow-black stripes (fesses) derive from the coat of arms of Ballenstedt.
