CEMETERY: Normal 0 In Otmuchów, Jews always have been a minority as in 1885 when 27 Jews lived here to 1930 with only ten. Otmuchowska synagogue was completely destroyed during Kristallnacht. The oldest known gravestone dates from 1819. The last burial was that of Jakob Schneider, who died in 1919. In recent years, local middle school students and young people from Germany, Czech Republic, and Israel cleaned the cemetery located outside the city to the north toward the village of Nieradowice on the southeast edge of the forest. 30 19th-20th century graves remain isible in a overgrown forest cemetery near Otmuchów.
