45721 North Rhine-Westphalia (Gerz) on Suedwall-B 51

Cemetery: near Südwall, before Lippetor, part of Highway 51. Used 1769 - 1939. Six visible stones. Until 1767 Jewish farmers here were buried in Coesfeld (Old Cemetery) and Warendorf (Old Cemetery). The cemetery was expropriated in 1939 and destroyed by the Nazis. Four documented Schneider gravestones were located since 1945 in the local town hall storage. As part of the 1980 repairs, a memorial stone was erected. [Sept 2012]
