The Hebrew Benevolent Society purchased and fenced two acres of land for a cemetery adjoining the private burial ground of Mr. Sanders, commonly known as the Hillside Cemetery. An avenue 30 feet wide was laid out around the Society's ground. Located on Angel Street near the University of Nevada, Reno. The Hebrew Cemetery has been in use since 1878 and is still active. The only entirely Jewish Cemetery in Northern Nevada except for the one in Virginia City, as of February 2006, the caretaker's cottage existed on the cemetery property, but as of Febraury 2010 the caretaker's cottage no longer exists. 410 interments [July 2011]
