A Jewish cemetery exists for the now non-existent town of Kirksville, very near Osyka MS. see Osyka

The German/Jewish cemetery in Kirksville is located on property my 2nd great grandfather owned and lived on with his family. His name was Johan Jacob Bergold, a native of Germany. He arrived in Louisiana in 1839 and died in 1859. Family history and property maps from the era show he owned a hotel down the hill from the cemetery where the train stopped. He was buried on his property and thereafter other people were buried also. I have visited the cemetery many times since childhood, have not been there in several years.
