Batakiai district / Raseiniai County / Kowna Gubernia. Słownik Geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego (1880-1902), I, pp. 342-343: "Botoki" #1. Batak is a town of Cesis district, Skaudvilė located on Ančia (Šešuvies right tributary) on the right bank. Batak Kurgan, the local residents called it Pilaitė. 2001 population: 261. [March 2009]
