Hebrew Cemetery: The original burial data was gathered by the Appanoose County Genealogical Society in the early 1980's. On November 1990, W. M. Heusinkveld walked the cemetery again to make corrections and note additions.

The cemetery is located in the northwest corner of Sect. 30, T69N, R17W. To get there, go north on Highway No. 5 in Centerville until it begins to curve to the east. Jog west 1/2 block at Tiki Marine and go north on 18th St. to the end of the street. The fenced cemetery is on the right, as proclaimed by the large wrought iron sign stating "Hebrew Cemetery - In Memoriam -1961 Rose Ritchell 1919".

The deed for a single acre from Alfred Coatney to Bana Israel is dated May 7 1892.

The site, now only about 75 feet square, is on a steep slope with many fine stones in a well-shaded and peaceful area. The cemetery was started in 1892.
