A place of worship existed from 1777 in Quatzenheim (Twatzene) in the home of an individual, probably the same building that was transformed into synagogue in 1819. Used as a meeting room during WWII, the Jewish community had been decimated by deportations. Services took place in the small prayerhouse located in the same building until 1980. Quartenheim had a rabbinate seat from 1880 to 1910. photos, an audio portion, and more information, only in French.  [January 2008]
