Jewish Population: 1930- 193; 1931- 278; 1937/38- 189; 1941-227; 1947-33; 1994-35.

The synagogue complex with a rabbi's house and Jewish primary school was built in 1860 and used until 1941. Although nationalized in 1948, the building remains, rebuilt in 1951 as a theater until 1999 when it became a Pentacoastal church. All Jewish symbols were removed. [February 2009]

• The landmarked Jewish cemetery on Vinogradska Street was established in 1860.Still active,  about 200 gravestones are protected by a wire fence. Restored in the 1990s, the site has a Holocaust memorial. Zlatko Bienenfeld, the head of the Jewish community, maintains this excellently preserved small cemeteries." [February 2009]
