Gaborone (formerly Gaberones) is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Botswana, situated in the southeast of the country close to the South African border.

Approximately 100 Jews live in Botswana in Gaborone. The majority of the Jewish community is Israeli working in agriculture, business and industry. There is no established synagogue. Jews are buried in non-Jewish cemeteries. [August 2009]
