From an original reported 150 gravestones, 104 were stolen during the Nazi period and of the remaining 46 only 12 are now recognizable, of which 4 are toppled.

Prior to having their own cemetery this community used the the cemetery in Kleinbardorf.
The cemetery was enclosed with a wire mesh, which is now supplemented by a natural green hedge. The entrance consists of a simple wire framed gate.
Vandalism occurred at various times, in 1921, 1925 and during the Nazi era in the 1930s.
At the instigation of former Jewish citizens of Königshofen im Grabfeld , the Landesverband der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinden in Bayern erected a large stone memorial in 1974, dedicated to the memory and in honour of the Jewish Dead from Königshofen and surrounding area who are buried here and to the Jewish victims who perished in Nazi extermination camps between 1933-1939
