The congregation had about 17 families as members and as many as 75 people on the high holidays. In the 1940s, a Reform congregation, Meir Chayim, was founded in nearby McGehee. Jews in Dermott joined the new congregation. Orthodox Jews held an early minyan followed by a Reform service.
